Sometimes one criminal action can lead to a journey of bad choices. When this occurs in public procurement, the public trust quickly becomes compromised. In this presentation, we will explore why and how criminal acts occur in public procurement, as well as who prosecutes them. We will also visit real life examples of such criminal activity, as well as consider and discuss situational "What if" scenarios.

You may just see a beautiful sunrise when you look towards the horizon with the Office of Technology. During this session, presenters will give a summary of Project Sunrise, the Google migration project. You’ll be briefed on the project status, benefits, impact, and next steps. The Business Impact Assessment (BIA) process will be outlined to explain how agencies can request help with finding ways to adapt their business practices to work with the Google applications. The CIO Review process will be explained to outline how to request WVOT approval for major IT initiatives. Last, but not least, contact information will be provided for the different sections in WVOT so attendees know where to get technology assistance and who to contact.

The wvOASIS team will also offer guidance on end of fiscal year preparations. If you look and listen closely you may even spot a new adventure on the horizon as wvOASIS reveals plans to add an accounts receivable feature to their list of applications.

Exploring the jungle of outside bank accounts and imprest funds
Someone said, “It’s a jungle out there,” but it doesn’t have to be that way for those wanting to learn more about outside bank accounts and imprest funds. Join us as we explore the process of managing outside bank accounts. Observe and learn what an outside bank account is, how they are different than state depository accounts and how they should be utilized in relation to WV Code. Adventurers will also learn about the importance of submitting annual outside bank account information to the Cash Management Division and the Unclaimed Property Division. Next your journey will take you on a close encounter with imprest funds where you’ll discover who should use them and how to set one up.
